Why I Can’t Get Acer Aspire Laptop to Start after Factory Reset

Microsoft Windows 8 lets you format the hard disk and reinstall the operating system without requiring any recovery media or partition, but the procedure won’t reinstate the Original Equipment Manufacturer program that’s included with the system. Fortunately, the Acer Aspire contains an inbuilt recovery program that not only resets the computer to the factory settings, but also reinstalls several device drivers and Acer programs. After resetting that you can do efficiently with the Acer laptop support of experts, your notebook should recover a new copy of Windows 8 without any problem. However, if your system won’t start after the factory reset, the computer or its hard drive may be broken or damaged.

Improper Recovery

If you shut down the system in the factory reset, you may have damaged the partition in which Windows is installed. If you didn’t make a recovery backup, then contact Acer laptop support to acquire the recovery media copy.  Alternatively, connect to the laptop the USB flash drive, including the recovery program and then turn the PC on. To load the drive contents, you may require pressing ‘F12’ in startup and choose the ‘USB Device’ option from the boot menu. Click the ‘Reset your PC’ button on the ‘Troubleshoot’ window, and you will be directed via the recovery procedure. Continue with the instructions and then let the wizard finish the factory reset. After completing the process, Aspire laptop restarts automatically.

Hidden Partition

The Acer Aspire contains the recovery partition that includes the data used to recover the notebook to its default settings. If the partition is damaged or has been infected by threats, it may fail to restore the laptop properly to the factory defaults. This problem, yet, is only significant if you restored the Acer Aspire from inside the Windows operating system, as the recovery backup doesn’t depend on the hidden partition to complete the factory reset. For troubleshooting the PC, continue with the similar process outlined in the above section.

Hardware Failure

If you have done the factory reset because the Aspire was having issues, the problem may be related to hardware instead of software. If your system produces a rattling, clicking, grinding noise when you start it on, the system hard drive may be failing. If your Aspire still doesn’t turn on, even if connected to the AC adapter, the motherboard may be faulty. Contact Acer laptop Support for further assistance. If your notebook is under warranty, the company will repair or change the laptop with no cost. You can also call on the Acer customer support phone number to fix your system problems correctly.

Servicing Parts

You can test the disk’s integrity by connecting it to another PC with the SATA-to-USB adapter. On the laptop bottom side, you will find the one or more access sections covering the hard drive and other serviceable modules. After unplugging the power adapter and removing the battery, extract these panels with a screwdriver. In most cases, you will find a tab connected to the hard drive that you can use to raise the device out of the slot; otherwise, you can take onto the skeletons and take the disk out that way. After removing the drive, add the SATA connector onto it and connect the USB connector to the other system’s USB port. If Windows can’t diagnose or access files on the drive, you must restore operation to Aspire by changing the hard disk.
